The theme for this week’s quilt contest is Christmas Table Runners. Your quilt can be made with any technique (i.e. piecing, appliqué) as long as it is completely finished, i.e. quilted and bound. Please don’t submit the same quilt that you entered last week!
This contest is for Christmas table runners or table toppers only. Next following week, will be other Christmas Quilts (i.e. wall hangings, lap, throw and bed quilts). Please don’t submit the same quilt in both weeks, but you can enter both contests with different quilts. You can’t enter in advance, so you’ll have to come back after Dec. 7th to enter the Christmas Quilts only contest.
I did not have a sponsor for this week’s contest, however, when I asked on Facebook if anyone wanted to sponsor it, quilting friends Pat Sloan and Thearica Burroughs volunteered. Thanks so much ladies!!
A little about Pat Sloan…
Pat Sloan has been creating since she was a child. From the first shoebox dioramas to sketches for a fabric line, there has always been creative energy flowing. When she tried her hand at quilting in 1985, she never looked back. She is the owner and founder of the quilting design and publishing company Pat Sloan & Co., she has published over 25 books, more than 100 patterns, nearly 10 fabric lines, and has had her work featured in all the major Quilt magazines.
In January 2010, Pat started hosting her weekly Internet Radio show called "Creative Talk Radio". In March of 2011, Pat partnered with American Patchwork & Quilting magazine and now hosts the radio show with them.
Pat has donated a wonderful gift package including two charm packs of her fabric line “Eat Your Fruits n’ Veggies”, exclusive radio show earbuds, Aurifil thread sampler and a Kansas City Star DVD.
A little about Thearica Burroughs…
Being a professional longarm quilter needing to find a new direction and loving the art of crazy quilting, I decided to open an online site and make available crazy quilting supplies to other crazy quilt enthusiasts. It is a win-win situation with me as it allows me to have personal contact with other crazy quilters and have my very own personal crazy quilting stash here within mere reach of my hands.
Crazy Quilting Supplies carries various items such as venise lace, venise lace motifs, silk ribbon, vintage buttons, charms, pearl cotton threads, brooches, costume jewelry, beads, Czech glass buttons, beaded cabachons, trims and so much more! We also carry wide quilt backs for the traditional quilters! Our prices are some of the lowest on the market so we encourage you to come and check out the site where you are sure to find something to use in your next art creation!
Thearica is donating a $25 gift certificate to be used in her Crazy Quilting Supplies online store.
We’ll have two winners this week. The first place winner will get to choose which prize she/he would like first.
