I finally got to spend some time in my sewing room this weekend and finished up my Maple Leaves tutorial for the Glorious Autumn Quilter’s Block Party.

For my block, instead of using four different fabrics, I chose to use this gorgeous hand dyed fat quarter and cut it up as best I could to get some great colours for my leaf units.

I used my new iPhone to help get the block pieces in the correct orientation:

Here’s how four blocks would look together as a 24″ square wall hanging:

Wow, Michele, you got a major amount of impact with only one fabric! I love how yours turned out. And the 24″ block is so cool with the stems making a different square in a few places. Very neat!

Thanks so much Leslie. I love the secondary pattern too, great place to do some lovely quilting.

    Cheers,

The transformation from fabric to quilt block is remarkable. I can’t imagine anything prettier with that fabric.
