I used an assortment of paper-piecing patterns and scraps to create this bookshelf, then designed the “wood” portion myself. Details include blue fabric with stars to represent a veteran’s flag, pendulum clock with “gold” pendulum, candlestick lamp, birdhouse bookend, and a jar of baseball gumballs.

My oldest daughter was going off to preschool and needed a blanket for nap time. What is more perfect and appropriate than the Cat in the Hat! One side has blocks featuring the different aspects of the story, the other has a large panel of the Cat along with the whole story written out.

In June, I retired from teaching special education for 34 years. The center panel of this quilt, hung on the wall in my classroom for many years. So, I designed the quilt around it! It means allot to me as it reminds me every time I see it, of all my students who touched my heart over the years!

My grandaughter called me up one day and said “Gramy, could you make me a quilt for my school?” Aww how could I say no. This has her school colors and school sayings on it. I did finish it and quilt it. She loved it. We donated it to her school to raise money.

Made for my sister , I drew,used wonder under ,cut out & ironed on the school house and the school bus as well as everything else & machine quilted.
I also put a real bell in the bell tower but took picture before adding that.

This is a playmat I made for a charity donation. The ‘outside’ playground, with the bus arriving with more children…is attached to the ‘school room’. There is a pocket on the back to hold all the machine embroidered dolls and accessories. The playmat folds up for easy ‘totability’.

This is a wall hanging made for a nearly life-long friend who teaches 4th grade. I saw this pattern and I knew I needed to make it for my friend. It is raw-edged applique, embellished with beads and buttons and free motion quilted.
