Weekly Quilt Contest: Beach and Seashore

weekly quilt contest

The theme for this week’s quilt contest is Beach and Seashore. You can submit quilts, wall hangings, pillows, etc. as long as the item you enter is completely finished (i.e. bound and quilted).

Our sponsor this week is Vicki Welsh who creates gorgeous hand dyed fabrics. See below for this week’s fabulous prize and for a special coupon code just for Quilting Gallery readers.

Hi Everyone!

I’m so happy to be back at the Quilting Gallery for a great new weekly contest and especially for such a fun theme. I live a short 2-hour drive from the beach so it’s a favorite vacation destination for everyone around here. This week I want to share with you some of my favorite water-inspired gradients. I have lots of gradient patterns that you can see in my Etsy shop but these are some of the most popular.

Beach-Walk

Beach Walk, where the sand meets the waves

Rappahannock Sunset

Rappahannock Sunset was inspired by the beautiful sunsets over the Rappahannock River in Virginia

under-the-sea

Under the Sea is a great background for your tropical underwater fantasy quilt

and

Salt-Marsh

Salt Marsh was inspired by the marsh areas of the Intercoastal Waterway of the East Coast of the US.

Perusing my gradient and other hand dyed fabrics you might get the impression that I am obsessed with color. That would be an understatement! In addition to creating color I like to study color theory. If you are interested in some of the basic concepts of color theory you can follow along on my weekly color posts on my blog. For information on new fabrics, free projects and links to the most current color posts sign up for my monthly newsletter.

You can find me in all these places on the web:
