Weekly Quilt Contest: Easter Quilts and Fabric Projects

weekly quilt contest

The theme for this week’s contest is Easter. You can enter finished quilts of any size and other fabric-made projects for this contest. If you entered last week’s Springtime Renewal contest, please do not submit the same quilt for this week.

Valerie from Pastimes Online is back as this week’s sponsor. She’s giving away Cotton Floss by Natalie Lymer from Cinderberry Stitches to the quilter with the most votes over the weekend.

Hi everyone, it’s Valerie and I’m back from Pastimes Online – stop by and say hi! My blog is http://www.PastimesOnline.ca/Vals-Quilting.

Here’s some free tutorials off of my blog… Chenille Blog Tutorial – if you haven’t tried this technique before, it’s super fun and you get amazing results.

Does your ironing board need an update? Here’s an excellent Ironing Board Cover Tutorial to give your board an update for Spring.

This week’s Easter theme is Perfect timing as I’m just in the process of finalizing a completely adorable Easter themed Quilt – Block of the month (of course, my specialty) and it’s almost ready to start…intrigued? Well if you’re interested in joining this block of the month – a bit of a mystery at this point – then send me a note that you’re interested and I’ll add you to my list of participants.

Email me here!

It will be an excellent combination of patchwork, appliqué (easy) and stitching, it will be a wall quilt or a throw quilt – not for a bed (unless it’s a small bed ;)). This block of the month, like all of the other ones we do here at Pastimes Online, will include all of the fabrics you’ll need for the top, including the pins, floss (to get you started), sewing machine needles, embroidery needles and so much more…as well as step by step tutorials and videos along the way.

Here’s a sneak peak…

As a sponsor this week, I wanted to give away some more reading material, how about this superb edition of Cotton Floss – the newest book by Natalie Lymer from Cinderberry Stitches, She’s a delight and this new book of hers is super cute! Loaded with projects and the cutest little toad stools and cutie patooties…enjoy!

congratulations to Linda! I only have things I made last year for Easter, I didn’t do anything handmade for this Easter. Too much going on at the home front :) Can’t wait to see the entries!

  2. Mishka says:

Doesn’t have to be something you made for this Easter.
