Taken from the Jenny Haskins design for ‘Fabricadabra Quilt’ this pillow shows the same embroidery embedded design in a smaller way. I love the pillow. It is backed with Fusible Fleece, the top was a combination of embroidery design and quilting, then the ruffles were applied and finally the back.

I made this pillow for my husband’s office. The center panel is a photo transfer of the lake behind our house in the fall. I accented that with Batik fabrics. I added a brown ribbon strip for accent around the quilted panel. The pillow has a ruffle.

I designed this pillow so that I would be able to comfortably read in bed with my back supported. A triangle shape seemed perfect! Then I decided to incorporate my love of patchwork, scraps and buttons to make the pillow extra special. Free motion quilting added the finishing touch.

I bought some Rose pink silk in a sale which was exactly right for this project. The pattern from a magazine is based on the work of Rennie Macintosh. Corded Trapunto work with hand embroidered seeding in 2 shades of purple, French knots in dark pink. Hand quilted with a medium shade of purple.
