Twitter Party Scavenger Hunt Give-Away

Back to School Twitter Party

Hi everyone,

The Back To School Twitter Party hosted by @stitchinheaven will be getting under way shortly. You’ll find me under @MishkaOttawa. Hope you’ll join the fun.

More info on how to party on Twitter here. Hashtag for this event is #SHPARTY. You can follow the conversation stream here.

Best advice, don’t try to read everything, or you’ll be hopelessly lost. Follow as fast as you can, win some awesome prizes, make some new friends, and just have fun connecting with fellow quilting friends from around the world. I see some of our Australian friends are awake Saturday morning and joining in too.

Officially, the party runs from 10pm to 12pm EDT, but there are many early arrivals joining in now too. Sign in for the party here.

Give-Away

So, it seems I might not actually understand the Scavenger Hunt part for tonight, and I’ve just made it too easy for ya’ll, by not hiding this post so ya have to, well, hunt for it.

Regular readers might remember this post from a dear quilting friend, Heather Spence. Here mom has chronic Leukemia, and is a perfect candidate for a stem cell transplant. Heather’s helping her mom by doing a Mystery Quilt by Email and donating all the funds raised to her mom.

I was really moved by Heather’s story and asked her if I could purchase five of her Mystery Quilts, keep one for myself and then give away the other four here to my lucky blog readers. So that’s what I’m doing.

Heather’s mystery quilt called Dan’s Climb is perfect for the confident beginner to do. The event starts October 7th and each week you’ll receive the instructions in your email for the next installment. Also, Heather’s created a Facebook group that you’ll be invited to join. We’ve all be having great fun getting to know each other and sharing the fabrics that we’ve picked.

Stepping out of my recent comfort zone, here’s the fabrics I’ve chosen. I’ve ordered some gold and green accent/border fabric too, but they haven’t arrived yet.

To enter the give-away, just leave a comment below telling me what Christmas projects you’ll be working on for this year. You don’t have to participate in the Twitter party to win. The give-away is open to all of my blog readers. Winners will be chosen randomly next Tuesday.

If you don’t win one of my four give-aways and want to help out Heather and her mom, just get in touch with her on her blog/website or send her an email heather@heatherspencedesigns.com or contact her via Facebook. The cost of the Mystery Quilt is $10.00 USD. You will receive fabric requirements when I receive payment.
