I’m using The Caroler by Mary Engelbreit to make a cute Christmas-themed table runner from Erin Russek’s Mittens applique pattern.

I’m using fusible web applique for my mittens.

The blocks are ready for machine blanket stitching. I love, love the fabulous colours in this fabric line. Now to decide what colour of thread to use for the blanket stitch .. red, black, white, gold. Thoughts?

Download the mittens pattern from Erin’s site. She’s included instructions for making a quilt of mittens and an on-point table runner too.

Be sure to check out Erin’s idea for squaring up the mittens block … it’s brilliant.

I love this quilt in this fabric! I saw it on Erin’s site too. Such a cute pattern. Just a personal preference, but I might go with a red thread. Always cheerful.

Love the mittens and especially that arrangement. As for thread colour, I say use all of them. :) can’t wait to see the final quilt!
