Threading the Needle by Marie Bostwick Give-Away

Marie Bostwick, one of my most favourite authors, has just released her fourth book in the Cobbled Court Quilt Circle series entitled Threading the Needle. I have read Marie’s previous three books and enjoyed them immensely.

Threading the Needle

The economic downturn has hit New Bern, Connecticut, and Tessa Woodruff’s herbal apothecary shop, For the Love of Lavender, is suffering. So is her once-happy thirty-four-year marriage to Lee. They’d given up everything to come back to New Bern from Boston and start their business, but now they’re wondering if they made the right decision. To relieve the strain, Tessa signs up for a quilting class at the Cobbled Court Quilt Shop, and to her surprise, rediscovers the power of sisterhood—along with the childhood friend she thought she’d lost forever…

Madelyn Beecher left New Bern twenty years ago and never looked back. But when her husband is convicted of running a Ponzi scheme and she’s left with nothing but her late grandmother’s cottage, she is forced to return to the town she fled. Unfortunately, the cottage is in terrible shape and Madelyn’s only hope becomes transforming it into an inn. But to succeed, she’ll need help, including the one friend she never thought she’d see again—or forgive. As Tessa and Madelyn work with their fellow quilters to restore the cottage, they learn that it’s possible to start over, one stitch at a time…

Are you an avid reader? I am, like quilting projects, it’s not uncommon for me to have several books I’m reading on the go at once, and even more audio books that I’m listening to. I’m very fortunate to live just a couple of blocks away from the main Ottawa Library which I visit a few times a week.

Winner will be chosen randomly next Thursday. Facebook friends, please enter the give-away on the blog directly, CLICK HERE.

Yeah! I thoroughly enjoyed the first 3 books in this series and am excited to see that the 4th is hot off the press! Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy! As to my favorite author, yikes! We are all a family of voracious readers and my list of favorites is long. I love Biographies and Mark Twain and have fond memories of reading hundreds of fabulous books aloud to the kids until my voice was hoarse. Loved Jean Craighead George, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and hundreds of others. Loved the Mitford series too. Oh goodness, that’ll teach you to ask me about books! Grin!

  9. Janet says:

I have recently read the (so far) three books in a series by Alan Bradley. They are mystery stories with an interesting twist. The main sleuth is Flavia de Luce, an eleven year old aspiring chemical genius, who lives in a crumbling mansion in England, and who gets herself involved in all the mysteries around town. The first book in the series is called “The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie”. These books are great fun.

I haven’t read a quilting related novel but would love to.

  10. Deborah says:

I read a quilt triology a few years ago that I loved, but for the life of me I can’t remember the author’s name. *blushes* It was set in the mountains, I think the lead character inherited her grandmother’s cottage.
I also enjoy reading Nora Roberts and Debbie Macomber’s series about a woman who opened a yarn shop was great, too!
I would love to win this book! I must find the other three, too!

I love to read novels about quilting and anything else that is full of suspense, intrique, and usually contains at least one murder of some kind. I’ve been waiting for ‘Threading the Needle’ and am on the wait list for the audio version through the library in our town. Although I enjoyed Marie’s first book I found the story got more interesting in the next two. This one should be very enjoyable. Thanks for offering it.
