Vote Now: Birthday/Anniversary Celebration Quilts

photo-contests

Grab yourself a cup of coffee and browse the gorgeous Birthday/Anniversary Celebrations for this week’s themed quilt contest and leave a comment below for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate from this week’s sponsor: Patchwork Gracie Fabrics. The quilter with the most votes will win a $25 gift certificate from our sponsor.

Enter the give-away: Want to win a $25 gift certificate? Before I tell you how you can win, I have a confession. I have a major weakness for Batik fabrics. I mean it’s a serious addiction! I don’t think there’s a batik fabric that I don’t love and want to have in my stash. If you’re like me, then you’re in luck this month, as PG Fabrics has a 20% off sale on all of their Batiks. I have been drooling over these all month!! The 20% discount is added when you check out; the prices you see on the web site are the regular prices.

To enter the give-away to win a $25 gift certificate, browse the Batiks section and leave a comment below telling me which one is your favourite. Of course, I couldn’t pick just one favourite, so I’ve picked two: Plum (it’s PURPLE!!! and Batik!!!) and Cornsilk (my Batik lights are very limited).

Now it’s time for you to vote for your favourite!

  • Voting is open Friday – Sunday @ 11:59 p.m.
  • One vote per IP address (NOT email address), so have your family and friends cast a ballot for their favourite quilt (from home if you send it to coworkers)
  • Winner announced Monday!

How to Vote:

  • Review the photos and stories below… there are several, so you’ll need to scroll down to see them all.
  • Underneath the photos, scroll down, you’ll see the names of all the quilts with a circular button** beside each one. Select the button for the quilt you want to vote for.
  • Then scroll down, all the way, until you get to the bottom of the names of quilts. Then press the vote button.

** Note: If you don’t see the circular buttons to vote, but instead see the voting results, that means someone on your IP Address already voted or that the voting period has ended. Shared IP Addresses are very common in home or work networks.

Please Note: If you are not seeing all of the photos, check your browser settings. Go to view, and text size. Make sure it’s set at medium. If you need web sites to be larger so you can read them more easily, then use the browser’s Zoom function, not the text resize. This is a known bug and hopefully I’ll have it fixed soon.

Oh, that Surf Artisan has my name written all over it! I’ve just collected fabric (27 different!) for a Moonglow, and to be honest, most of it is batik! I can’t wait to get started!!

  2. Judy LeVang says:

Pewter by Lunn Studios!! Makes me drool!

  3. Alicia Stritch says:

My favorite Batik is the Rainbow Cotton Batik because it has ALL the colors :)

  6. Sarah says:

Wow! So many beautiful quilts ;0) it was really hard to choose just one. Good luck everyone.

  7. Lindy Weber says:

If it weren’t ‘illegal’ I would go door to door in my neighborhood, using everyone’s computers, until I had voted for every single one of these quilts. The thoughtfulness devoted to the creation of each one touched me deeply. And I WILL be making a placemat size Birthday quilt for my one and only granddaughter who soon will move far, far away. She will have a reminder of Grandma Lindy. Thank you for that sharing!

  8. Amazon says:

I’m like you ,it was hard to just pick one, so I picked two, lol.Amethyst & Wineberry. Love them!

  9. Anne Sidell says:

I thought I answered this already – but my favorites are Plum and Amethyst… too hard to choose between them.

  10. Shirley Clark says:

I couldn’t even see Rachel’s Garden even after adjusting my screen. I finally could clip a corner of it to click on, but it was after I voted, but that’s ok, I also liked the one I voted on.

I love the Batiks, and I also love the purples, but that turtle batik just took my eye.

  11. Leni Blumenfeld says:

  14. Loved all the designs.

  15. Renate says:

The diversity in the quilts for this week’s contest are amazing. Quite inspiring. As to picking my favourite batik…I can only pick one? Nope can only narrow it down to Amethyst and Jewel.

  16. Marie D says:

Before I started to quilt I would see batik fabric and wonder “what in the world?” would I do with that. Then I started to quilt. They’re all gorgeous, but that Hoffman Heather speaks to me.

  17. Sue C. says:

Oh they all are so pretty – but my favorites are the Tonga Navy Ethnic Paisley and the Silver Serendipity.

  18. KWS says:

I like all of the quilts but my favorite is marine snow.

The one called Pacific Batik (blue with lots of dots) is my favorite. It was really hard to choose.

  20. Nancy Sue says:

First off, the quilts are wonderful. I really had a tough time voting for just one.
The batik I really liked is the Sunny Glow Batik Orchid. I would probably have a tough time cutting into the beautiful fabric though :)

  21. Patty Reis says:

Gosh the pressure! It’s up to US to choose a winner but they are ALL so pretty!

  22. annie says:

  23. Barb says:

The choice of fabrics is fabulous. I chose jewel, but I like so many more. Just so many that are beautiful.

  24. Melissa says:

I came to vote, but I don’t have the option to vote. This site states that means someone at home already voted. How can that be if I am the only one using my IP address–and the only one home, and this is my first visit to this site?

  25. Melissa says:

I followed a link here, but found that AFTER I submitted my comment, the buttons appeared and the results were gone for voting. I have now since voted, so I would recommend refreshing if anyone else followed a link here and did not have the option to vote.

  26. Sandi says:

I liked that birthday quilt and it remind me of my friend…..Paige. :-) Ohhhhh, those batiks! Lovely! I have always liked quilts made in batiks but only recently bought my own little stash and made a tablerunner with them. Uh oh! Hooked on another type of fabric. Can’t get enough of them! LOL! The one I’d pick is one called Crocus by Hoffman. It caught my eye right away. I would love the chance to win more batiks!

  27. Liz says:

Love the Orchard Rust, but would be happy with any orange-my favorite color! Thanks for the chance to win!

  28. Jen says:

What fabulous entries! I love hearing the stories of the love that went into these quilts! Thanks quilters!

  29. Betsy Lynn says:

    I love the blue turtles!

  30. Vicki Hough says:

I think they are all worthy of being in a stash but the Tawny Batik caught my eye as it would fit in with a quilt I have ready to go.

Bright you say? Well that is just one of the delicious things about it. Pink is my favorite color and I collect pink batiks. I have LOTS of them. So this jumped right out and said “I am the one” no others will come close.. and they didn’t, really

  39. Well, it’s as toss-up on the batik’s the orange pineapple and the blue dolphins…………..oh heck, I need them both!!!
