Let’s Go Button Crazy Give-Away

I was introduced to this fabulous company earlier this week: Incomparable Buttons. They are sharing a bit of their history and photos with us and giving away 20 cards of hand-painted buttons to 10 lucky winners (retail value $200). See below on how to enter.

Incomparable Buttons

Incomparable Buttons’ main aim is to create employment for women in South Africa. Our second goal is to create fabulous buttons! We employ a wonderful group of women, our ‘Sunshine Team’, who have been working with us for many years and many of whom are the sole providers for their large families. They speak nine different languages but when we come together to make buttons we speak … button language!!

Each button has to be individually handmade and dried in the African sun before the first firing. After the first firing they are all hand painted and then fired to an extremely high temperature. This and the stone mix is what makes our buttons so durable. Every button is unique. Each one is a tiny work of art created with love and care. If you look closely you may even be able to see the artist’s fingerprint on the back.

Incomparable Buttons are completely washable. They are perfect for replacing generic plastic buttons or used on quilts, needlework and cross stitch. When so many hours of care and effort have been painstakingly put into a quilt or a hand knitted item, only the best handmade buttons will do.

They can be used purely for embellishment and will transform a plain item of clothing, hat or bag into a special piece. The best part is that once the item of clothing is tired and ready for recycling, our buttons are ready to be used again. The possibilities are endless.

Our full catalogue, which includes quilting buttons!! can be viewed online at www.buttonmad.com. We have a blog too, drop by to see the latest creations by our button artists: Incomparable Buttons’ Blog

Incomparable Buttons are fabulous & fun and delight both young and old alike. And as our tag line reads: ‘Why settle for plastic?’

To enter the give-way, check out the gorgeous buttons in the Incomparable Buttons Catalogue and let me know in the comments below which buttons are your favourite. 10 lucky winners will each receive two cards of buttons.

My favourite ones are L194 hearts, L237 stars and the quilting ones (L225 and L228). Winners will be randomly chosen next Thursday, March 17, 2011.
