Appalachian Spring~To God Be the Glory Appalachian Spring~To God Be the Glory
By: Lavinia Sala, Tennessee, USA

There’s nothing more beautiful than Spring in the Appalachians, when God once again renews the earth. My feelings for it were poured into this quilt, which was a year and a half in the making. The “logs” are machine pieced, but the flowers and vines are hand appliqued. Hope you enjoy it!

Autumn Home Autumn Home
By: Susan Snooks, Australia

I collected fabrics for this quilt for some time before deciding on a design. The various borders grew from a number of different sources and inspirations. The element of the log cabin patchwork fitted so well with the house at its centre. It hangs proudly in the junior school of where I work.

Case Study Case Study
By: upstatelisa, New York, USA

I get many ideas while running at the gym. I came up with an idea to combine my passion for log cabins with inspiration from a quilt by CrazyMomQuilts called Snippets to use a colored center for the block & completely white otherwise. I read lots of case studies in grad school… hence, the name.

By: Michelle Lovatt, Manitoba, Canada

I gathered the fabric for this quilt in a fun sort of way. It was a quilt hop of Manitoba which included six different shops. The man of my life drove me from shop to shop and while I was buying and buying he was having coffee and danties with all the ladies, not sure who was having more fun.

LOG CABIN HEARTS LOG CABIN HEARTS
By: Linda Douglas, Montana, USA

Log Cabin quilts traveled with our pioneer ancesters to every state in the Union! Though utilitarian for them mostly, one has to know these quilts were a source of beauty and comfort to them in struggling times. What a dear heritage we have from them, the use of the Log Cabin Block.

For a workshop-quilt I had to buy fabrics, I bought too much. (Too much? Do we ever have too much fabrics?) With the leftovers I prepared this mini log cabin, I finished it before the workshop-quilt!

My Favourite Colours Log Cabin My Favourite Colours Log Cabin
By: Linda Smith, Nova Scotia, Canada

I made this quilt top to try and use up some of my scrap collection in my favourite colour combo. It was missing something when I completed it so I hand appliqued the red square to give it a spark. I love it.

The green is the vegetation and the yellow/orange is the sun and moon.
Hawaii is an island, the frame. I loved the fresh pinapple served for breakfa

Shabby Cabin Shabby Cabin
By: Selina Koreski, Washington, USA

This is my first Log Cabin quilt. After it was pieced, I did the quilting on my home machine (another first). I hated it, so I ripped all the quilting out and started over. I also had to do the binding twice. For a quilt so full of learning curves, I think it turned out beautiful!
