Cat at Sunset Cat at Sunset
By: Anne Maundrell, Brunei Darussalam

This quilt is an original design featuring my hand painted sunset sky and was inspired by a photo I took of our cat Aicha sitting on the patio wall one evening admiring the tropical sunset. Sadly she is no longer with us so this quilt is very special now to us.

Dawn on Carolina Dawn on Carolina

I fell in love with a photo taken at dawn on a Carolina beach by my friend, Norma Draughn. I’ve interpreted it in several quilts, this one I created as a donation for the Give Back a Smile Auction for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

It gets harder every week to choose! I like them all.
Can hardly wait to find out your next week’s category.

Shoot, even I had trouble deciding who to vote for and one of the quilts is MINE!

Michele, just sent you one for next week. I don’t enter quilt shows much but it is fun just to put the work out there for others to enjoy.

    Thanks for doing this!

I agree… this week was harder to make the final decision. I usually look at all the photos first to see which one speaks to me. And if more then one gets my attention, then I read the description to help me make my choice. A longer description is not necessary.

LOL Teri .. I hear ya, it was hard to decide. All the quilts are fabulous.

Darlee, thanks for your comments. I agree, so for now I’ll keep the status quo and leave things as they are. I’ll revisit at the end of the year if I decide to run the weekly contests again next year.
