I made this for a co-worker’s new baby. She loves bright, happy colors. The bugs are taken from the border fabric. Because bugs are so simple I was able to look at the fabric and enlarge them myself. I utilized hand guided machine applique, machine piecing, and machine quilting to make this quilt.

I love stitchery and I love patchwork and quilting so this mini quilt was a joy to make. It was the first pattern I bought and I used my first jelly roll when making it, so for me it’s all about ‘firsts’. My daughter loves the little lady birds and bees and it’s hanging just by her room.

I designed and made this mini quilt for a swap in February 2010 themed “Love is in the Air.” My partner loved her mini and hung it up on her studio wall. I loved the way it turned out and even contemplated keeping it…but I didn’t. :o)

I hand painted this fabric and it reminded me of Florida where my sister lives. She has cranes that live behind her house. This was the first quilt I ever entered into a quilt show.

This pattern was a Block of the Month project. It was made several years ago and is still a flimsy. So when I saw this contest I thought of this and decided it was time to get it out of hiding and get it quilted! It is paper-pieced with some embellishments such as the yo-yo flowers and buttons.
