Weekly Quilt Contest: Bugs and Birds

Congratulations to Becky Ray of Tennessee for winning last week’s Spring Garden quilt contest, with her beautiful Evening Primrose quilt. Becky wins a gift certificate from Jojo’s Quilt and Gift Shoppe.
This week’s theme is Bugs and Birds and is sponsored by one of my favourite quilt authors Marie Bostwick. She’ll be giving away a copy of her new book A THREAD SO THIN to both the first and second place winners. To enter, read the rules and guidelines, then submit your quilt photo. Voting will start on Friday and last until Sunday night.

My Cobbled Court Quilt novels, A SINGLE THREAD, A THREAD OF TRUTH, and the newest, A THREAD SO THIN, celebrate the community and camaraderie that exists among quilters.
As you might suppose, when one of their sisters-in-stitches faces a challenge, reaches a milestone, or needs a little encouragement, the characters of my Cobbled Court Quilt novels often get together to make a quilt. If you’re a quilter, chances are you’ve done the same for someone close to you. And why not? There’s nothing that says, “I care,” quite as eloquently as a quilt made by caring hands.
In my sixth novel, the youngest member of the Cobbled Court Quilt Circle stands at a crossroads that women of all ages can relate to. Liza, the once-rebellious granddaughter of town leader Abigail Spaulding, is finishing art school in New York City. Having struggled to find herself, Liza is torn. Does she accept the proposal of Evelyn’s son, Garrett, or pursue a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity in far-away Chicago? Everyone in New Bern has a different opinion, especially all those quilters. If only Liza could decide.
If you’d like to read a sample chapter from A THREAD SO THIN, follow the link to my website, www.mariebostwick.com and click on the book cover.

Also, if you register as one of my Reading Friends, you can get a free download for the quilt pattern inspired by the one that Evelyn, Abigail and Margot make for Liza make in A THREAD SO THIN. Becoming a Reading Friend is easy, just go to www.mariebostwick.com click on the box that says “Become a Reading Friend…”, fill in the information on the registration form (which is never shared with anyone), and submit it. Once your registration is activated, just login, scroll down to the quilt banner under my signature, and click to start the download.
Happy quilting…and reading!

I can’t wait to see all the quilt design for this week’s Bugs and Birds theme quilt. I’ve just discovered this wonderful book “A Thread So Thin” by Maria Bostwick, a New York Times bestselling author. It is the third book in the Cobbled Court series, it is an enjoyable book to read and I love the storyline, the characters, the dialogues, friendship etc.
