2010 National Quilting Day

National Quilting Day is this Saturday. Every year, the National Quilting Association puts out a free pattern to celebrate this day. This year’s pattern is Tie One On for the Troops.

Tie One On for the Troops

I plan to do some quilting this Saturday, along with laundry and packing for Lancaster next week. Here’s a sneak peak at my current project. It’s a gift for a friend, so I can’t show the full picture yet.

  2. Michele,
How can we start a National Quilting Day in Canada?

  3. Sandie says:

I love the colours and the fact that it’s batiks. Your black strips look very narrow and even. Well done! Enjoy your time in Lancaster – wish I was going too.

I will be joining 4 friends for our block-of-the-month, Bible study. Cutting and quilting, and eating and studying.

Oh boy Michele, those fabrics, you know I’m crazy for batiks, beautiful!! Tomorrow daughter and hubby will be away the whole day, they are going to an info day of the university in Utrecht, hubby and I take turns and it’s his turn now hehe. So I’ll be in my little sewing room the whole day, I’ll only come out to walk with Siep, but that’s it!! The new Florabunda block is there so no time to waste.

  6. We had a bunch of snow on Saturday, Nat’l Quilting Day and also the first day of spring! You know what they say–The first day of spring is not necessarily the first spring day!!

Anyway, I spent the day nice and warm in my sewing room quilting on fabric that will be turned into Easter purses for my granddaughters.

  7. Jean says:

As always, the first day of spring falls on my wonderful husbands birthday, so yesterday our grandchildren and I spent the day getting ready to surprise Papa & I worked on my paper pieced hexi quilt!
