A Hole in One A Hole in One
By: Maria Cherry, North Carolina, USA

I made it in 1995 as a Christmas gift for my husband’s parents. They had it hanging in their living room from an old wooden golf club.

It was my first quilt made with fusible applique, the pattern is from the book “Hook, Line and a Hole in One”.

A Placid Time A Placid Time
By: Charlotte, Washington, USA

“A Placid Times” is made from a photo transfer of a newspaper story written by a friend who covered the 1980 Lake Placid, NY, USA, Winter Olympics as a quilted memory of the event he covered. As the wife of a sports writer, this is one of a series of boquets wrapped in the writer’s words.

Believe in your Dreams Believe in your Dreams
By: Susan J. Jensen, British Columbia, Canada

I was asked by Northcott Fabrics if I would be interested in designing a quilt using their line of fabrics. I was honoured to be part of the 1988 Olympics when I worked for CTV, when I saw the fabrics I knew this was the project for me! You must believe in your dreams!

Going for Gold Going for Gold
By: Carole, British Columbia, Canada

Remnants of rusted fabric and an Olympics theme, I saw a ‘sportsman’ making every effort and ‘playing by the rules’…. a literal page I found. I added one Olympic ring… painted dryer sheets, off-cuts of a Shiva Stick project and hand-dyed scrim… all on fabric-paper. Machine quilted.

By: Rhonda Duncan, Alberta, Canada

When a coworker was diagnosed with Kidney failure at 34 and was an avid Hockey fan, I knew the moment his new baby was born that his Son would need a hockey Quilt. The Quilt has been on little Marlowes Crib since day 1 and it has really enhanced the bond of Father and Son.

Vancouver 2010 logo mini quilt Vancouver 2010 logo mini quilt
By: Vancouver 2010 Logo mini quilt, Mexico

Living in Mexico, its always amazing for me to watch the winter sports. I liked from the beginning the Vancouver 2010 Logo. I like to make applique quilts, and wondered how it would look like the logo on a quilt.

It’s so nice for me to share this mini quilt with all of you.

Thanks.
Ale
