Blizzard Blizzard
By: Marianne Bender-Chevalley, Switzerland

When I look out of my window today, this quilt reflects exactly the mood I observe outside.

BRR!!! BRR!!!
By: Sarcastic Quilter, Tennessee, USA

I took an applique class to create this purchased pattern. Fittingly, these penguins came together as much of the US had it’s coldest winter temperatures this year and well, all of us just said “BRR!!!”

I love how cute they are all bundled up with rosey cheeks!

Fairy Chill Fairy Chill
By: CieAngel, Florida, USA

This Wall Hanging was made with hand painted fabric in the middle. I also made a purple one that I gave to my friend since she liked purple. I’ve always wondered what happens to fairies in the winter don’t you?

Feathered Flake Feathered Flake
By: Emma, Australia

This quilt was inspired by one made by Ferret. Within a week of seeing it, I’d made this, my first wholecloth. I’d meant for it to be angular, more like a real snow crystal, but my hand wanted to draw feathers! I used alternate colours in the bobbin, so it’s reversable.

Grey Jay Grey Jay
By: What Comes Next?, British Columbia, Canada

a quilted postcard made for a winter themed swap. The Grey Jay’s or Whisky Jacks always make an appearance when hiking, or in this case snowshoeing in the local mountains. Based on a photograph taken by my husband. Applique, thread painted and embellished

Journey into the light Journey into the light
By: Ingrid, Netherlands

This is made from a design of McKenna Ryan and its my symbol of cold and ice and snow. The star will give it a little warmth !!

Quilt size: width: 24" height: 26"

Once Upon a Star Once Upon a Star
By: Calicojoan, Colorado, USA

Another one of McKenna Ryan’s fabulous quilts. I had to have this kit before it was even out on the market. It took all I had to wait patiently for the fabrics to come in! I absolutely love Alaska, so this one spoke to me on a very personal level.

Quilt size: width: 63" height: 57"

Pink Snowflake Pink Snowflake
By: Maya, California, USA

This quilt was made for a Doll Quilt swap. I love the idea of the 1/8th fold design used in Hawaiian quilts – one can draw up one’s own design and the results are most often very pretty!

Quilt size: width: 12" height: 12"

Silent Night Silent Night
By: Holly Elam, Alabama, USA

I made this quilt for a swap this past December. I sent it to a dear friend in Montana. Some of the embellishments are hand sewn.

Quilt size: width: 24" height: 28"

Snowflake Snowflake
By: Jane C, United Kingdom

Machined pieced and quilted with appliqued lace crochet snowflakes with bead embellishments.
A challenge to use my husband’s Grandmother’s lace crochet snowflakes and the unusual white and grey fabrics in my stash using intricate piecing.

Quilt size: width: 58" height: 73"

Snowflakes are hexagonal Snowflakes are hexagonal
By: Margeeth, Netherlands

I made this quilt for a challenge. We got a bundle of fabrics, the quilt had to be about snow and we were allowed to add one extra fabric (the white from the snowflakes).

Winter Waiting Winter Waiting
By: Sharon Vrooman, New York, USA

Snow, Ice, Cold – that’s our mixed Noreast storms. Reminds me of our empty bird houses, standing like sentries in any weather – waiting for the return of feathery families. I used several “snowy” fabrics to represent our storms and handquilted with metallic thread for the sparkly ice.

Quilt size: width: 11" height: 14"

Winter Wonderland Winter Wonderland
By: KathyQuilter, Arizona, USA

The idea for the snow scene came from a book. I designed the quilt myself. When I first saw the blue and white polkadot fabric in the store, I immediately knew what the finished quilt would look like. I love it when that happens!

there were only saw of the 14 displayed when I voted – would love to see the rest. Are they hiding somewhere?

Annmarie, I count 14, the first one is Blizzard, the last one is Winter Wonderland. What do you see? Have you increased your font size? You may need to reset it to 100%.
