I am in no shape to do this anymore, but in my younger healthier days, I liked to snowshoe. It’s great following trails in the woods; it makes a great windbreak and takes the chill off so that you can go for miles! THen, back home to a cozy wood fire and a cup of hot cocoa! Ahhhh!

My favorite winter activity is taking my Wired Haired Jack Russell, Jake out everyday for his run. He loves the snow and takes off through the fields like a rabbit. We both get to keep in shape, get fresh air and I swear we share a laugh.

  4. When I lived in MN…. my favorite was to go ice fishing & snow mobiling. How fun that use to be.

  5. Cheri S. says:

I love to ice skate and cross country ski. I actually enjoy the winter and would really miss the change of seasons. NY is a great place for winter sports!

  6. Mikol says:

I don’t like the cold so I usually hibernate most of the winter. I do like to take my girls out sledding though. Then we come home and have some hot chocolate.

  7. Amanda says:

I love to build snowmen and make snow angels! Not to mention watching my 3 yr old granddaughter play in the snow when she is here. She lives in Houston and doesn’t see a lot of snow. The expressions and excitement in her eyes make it even better! ~~ Amanda in KS

I live in Texas. Not a lot of winter down here. But I love having a fire and making so’mores with the kids.

  10. Lovely quilts, very difficult to vote this week. All our snow has gone but we are forecast more next week.

  11. Mary Shipman says:

We don’t usually get much snow here in southeast Missouri.
Hubby and I do a lot of rabbit hunting in winter. Great excercise, listen to our beagle pack, and get a new perspective on the short, often gloomy days.
On weekends we take one or more of the grandboys with us, then arrive home to a warm house and a bowl of hot soup. . .not a bad deal at all

  12. Lynn D says:

My favorite winter activity is to go somewhere warmer. When I can’t, I love being in front of the fireplace with applique or handquilting. Quilter’s are the best cooks, so I’m hoping this book will be mailed to my home.

  13. Thanks for the opportunity to be show quilts and stay connected to other quilters.

My favorite outdoor winter activity? I don’t have one. LOL. I’m one of those people that prefers to stay inside cuddled up next to a nice warm fire.

  20. Mary says:

The colors of winter are beautiful!

  21. Jean says:

These are all so cute, it was hard to choose. My favorite outdoor activity now is going for a walk in the crisp winter air.

I was born in Denver, CO and grew up in the snow. I remember lots of times, bundling up to go outside & play or build a snowman, or sledddin on the street in front of our house. All the quilts were totally delightful. Now I live in Texas, and can just admire the snow & winter fun on the internet.

    Thanks.
