Hi all...

My mom is the quilter who designed and made the Christmas Fireplace quilt in the large quilt contest. I was thrilled to read Carole's comments about my mom's quilt and have to say I wholeheartedly agree with her but admit that I am totally biased.

I've taken the liberty of posting some of my mom's work on my website, so if anyone is interested in seeing some more of what she has done, feel free to check out my post.

Good luck to all the entries!
Kristi

Thanks for your comments, Michele...I did not intend to suggest you had anything to do with voting, I did not explain my opinion very well. I do want to thank you for providing the venue for the quilts, they are so fun to look at and admire, whoever wins!

Michele
I would vote that you leave things as they are.

as the Aussie saying goes.... we are not playing for Sheep Stations....

Lets just have fun and I know a lot of my blog readers aren't Quilters but love the Quilts.

I am just so thrilled to have received a few votes and to have my Quilt in Virtual Print.

Seasons Greetings to All.

Hi JoAnn,

The size requirement for both categories was clearly indicated on the guidelines page and the submission pages. Large quilts are quilts 80" square or larger. I had to pick a limit, and that was the limit I chose. For the two table runners that are larger than 80" square, I made the decision to leave them in the small categories category.

I'm not sure what you mean by "... looks like a set-up". They are not my quilts, nor do I receive any payment from anyone (sponsors & contestants) whatsoever to run the various contests. They are done for fun and to show up our creations.

Cheers,
Michele

I don't understand the rules, obviously. Why would a 40" x 40" wall quilt be considered in the "large quilt" category along with bed sized quilts? There are some outstanding quilts in both categories, but I do wonder about the leading vote-getter in both small and large quilts...looks like a set-up to me!

Great Contest! I wish I had known about it earlier.
I especially love the "Snowflakes" and "Charming Botanical" quilts. Lovely work!

Happy Holidays!
