Small bits
- Judy’s hosting a virtual quiltathon this weekend. Plus she’s got the cutest chicks. My kitties go wild over the chicks and dog video.
- For the locals, mark your calender, the Ottawa Valley Quilters Guild (the one I belong to) is organizing the Festival of Quilts 2009 on May 8-10, 2009.
- Yesterday, Maria kicked off Kay’s virtual book tour for the launch of her new Easy Applique Blocks book.
- Travelling anywhere near Indiana this summer? The Quilt Gardens Tour in lovely Amish country is a must stop. I’m hoping to fit it in this summer.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Michele, just thought I’d let you know about a Quilt Retreat I’m planning for next month in Morrisburg. If you and any of your friends are interested in attending, it’s a great time away! It’s basically a do your own thing getaway but we will be asking people to share tips etc! There are two bag classes offered free of charge, also if interested! It is held at the MacIntosh Inn. Includes, 3 nights, three breakfasts, 3 lunches and 3 suppers. Double Occupancy rooms and a large bright room to keep your sewing stuff set up in for the whole time! Lots of good food, fun and laughter. Tuesday April 21, before noon and leaving after breakfast (or later) Friday. We still have a few spots left, max 20 , I’ve attended retreats there beforte and put on retreats for Lanark County QG so I’m familiar with the processd. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks
Ruth…(Woops, the cost is an amazing $284.00)
I hope you DO come to Northern Indiana Amish Country to enjoy the Quilt Gardens Tour this summer. It kicks off in just over a month and Das Dutchman Essenhaus will be home to a quilt garden AND a mural. We’ve chosen the center diamond pattern for the garden (where we’ll plant over 7,000 flowers) and the double wedding ring design for our super-sized mural.
Hope to see you this summer. ‘Til then, Happy Quilting!
